It all began in 1897 with a Smucker family recipe for apple butter. Today, our Cider Apple Butter is still a favorite. Our Fruit Butters are made by slowly cooking fruit and sugar together until a smooth, thick "butter-like" consistency is achieved. The end result has spoken for itself for more than 100 years.
